Description
1890’s Victorian Era 14k Gold Hollow Hinged Bangle Bracelet With Black Enamel.Made during the late 19th century. The outside of bangle is hand engraved with flowers, leaves and flourishes. All is highlighted with black enamel decoration, referred to as Taille d’Epargne enamel. The plunger style clasp has slight crack, but is perfectly secure and there is a safety chain. This piece is unmarked, but acid tested positive for 14k gold. It weighs 17.010 grams. Outside circumference is 7 1/8”, inside circumference is 6 2/8” and 2 1/16” by 1 3/4” inside diameter wide. Due to age (over 100 years old) it has some tiny dimpling on inside.... hard to pick up with camera, but perfect on outside.
This piece was handed down to me as a child in 1950 by my 90 year old Great Uncle who had been the orchestra leader at the NY Hippodrome during the teen years of the 1900’s. It had been a gift to his wife, my Great Aunt and it remained in the family.
