Condition: Good to Very good antique condition - some gilt paint wear and/or loss-mainly on the rim- but you may see in other areas as well. See all photos. There are no chips nor cracks. Some minor soiling and some roughness on the base of the mug- done in the making. There are some very minor irregularities in the glaze that occurred in the making- see all photos. It displays very well. It shows the signs you want to see of age and wear and patina of history. See photos for your review and estimation of condition.

Antique 19th C OCCUPATIONAL Shaving LIMOGES FRANCE Mug MASONIC Compass FLAG #1 -
It is a really nicely made Antique Shaving Mug for the Masons or Order of Freemasonry. It has a
very pleasing design on the mug which shows the traditional Compass & Square design for Masons and a special touch using the Stars and Stripes on the Shield around the compass & square. It was made for W.F. Frantz (we think that is what is says!) It was made in France at the Limoges factory (Wm Guerin & Co). measures approximately 3 5/8" tall and approx 3.5" diameter (from edge to edge) at base and 3.75" diameter at top of mug- edge to edge.
