Antique Canadian Kodak No.2C Autographic Folding Camera

Description

The autographic series of Kodak cameras allowed user to write a comment or label directly on the special Autographic film. These cameras featured a slot for accessing the film and a metal stylus for writing on the film. Another interesting design feature was a removable component holding the lens and shutter while the film was located in the body of the camera. This example was manufactured by Kodak Canada under a 1916 Canadian patent. The ball bearing shutter offers speeds of 1/25, 1/50, and 1/100 plus B and T. Apertures range from f 4 to f 64. Both the shutter and aperture scales also include descriptive text for each setting and both are functional.  The bellows are in unusually good condition for a century old camera. The leatherette covering is in good condition on the back, but blistered on the sides and front of the camera. The black trim paint is worn in several places. This is a good display item demonstrating the unusual write-on-film technology. It has the rarely-found stylus in place in its clip.
