LLbean Vintage Cork Goldeneye decoys.
For sale is a beautiful example of an exquisite pair of cork goldeneye drake and hen decoys made by LLBean of Freeport, Maine. As many know, these goldeneyes are no longer made and haven’t been made since 2000. The bodies are in great shape (a few scratches on tails and keel) as well as the heads (minor blemishes, see photos for detail). Decoys are 15 inches long and 8 inches wide. Beautiful glass eyes and paint stencil detail. These decoys sport the original stencils that George Soule developed years ago, not homemade paint brush jobs like others out there. These decoys came from an estate near the Scarborough marsh, Maine. Elegant mantle pieces or working decoys.
