    Description

    This is a Vintage Black Duck Hen Sleeper Decoy hand carved & painted by Leonard Burcham (b.1938) of Havre de Grace, MD.
    When I got this decoy, I reached out to someone much more familiar with the carver than myself and they actually spoke to Mr. Burcham about it. He said it was an early decoy for him and was patterned after a Dick Hipple (1891-1980) decoy. This decoy is 14.75” in length, 6” in width and stands 5” tall. It has nice scratch paint and great form. This decoy is signed & dated 1981.
    This item has a little expected handling & shelf wear consistent with a 40 year old decoy but has no real issues. A very nice example of this makers work. It comes from a smoke free home. Please see my other listings!
