    A friend closed his pharmacy about 10 years ago after almost 50 years and gave us a number of vintage pharmaceutical items which we are listing
    This is the fifth of them
    This is a vintage brass mortar and pestle
    It commemorates the First American Pharmacy - 1752
    There is a scale on the front of the mortar
    There is Rx on the back of the mortar
    There are a few Latin phrases etched on the mortar as well
    On the bottom of the mortar it is marked Schering
    The mortar is 4 1/4" tall and 4 1/2" across the top
    The pestle is 5 1/4" tall and marked Coricidin
    Nice vintage piece
