Description
My understanding is this is a Voigtlander Begheil 6.5x9 folding camera that uses 120 film in roll backs or plates. The roll backs allow you to shoot it with 120 medium format film, which is still made. It can produce 6x9 images with it. The lens serial number is 446482, and was produced in late 1928 or early 1929 as I understand it. The Bergheil was serviced (CLA) in spring 2020 by an expert European shop and they cleaned, lubricated and adjusted the Compur shutter. They checked all shutter speeds (T, B, 1 sec –1/250th) are appropriate and said the slow speeds buzz smoothly and fast speeds are clean and snappy. I have tested it with a couple of rolls but otherwise haven't used it. Bokeh is out of this world. I am downsizing my studio. The lens is the Voigtlander Heliar 105mm f4.5 (10.5cm five elements in three groups) is clean and serviced. There is no fungus, separation elements or other major problems. The lens glass looks virtually like new. No big scratches. I can't see cleaning marks or maybe just very faint. If there is dust I couldn't get it to show in the pics. The camera has some wear and tear for its age but is in good condition for what it is (expect very light cleaning marks, wear and tear but nothing serious. The tiny mirror in pic No. 5 has a blemish, but works). The Bergheil comes with a ground glass back (working condition for age), folding leather shade, three glass plate holders (not tested), a Rollex-Patent 120 Roll-film back (pic 2 & 8) and a brown leather case is also included. I am also including an additional Rollex-Patent film roll back as a bonus (not tested). It is new old stock from the 20s but has shelf wear etc but should work (see last two pics). The leather case has wear on the inside an out and could be cleaned a little, but is in good shape for its age. I can't offer guarantees on an item this age, but can supply documentation that it was serviced by Petrakla. It is not a beginner's camera but a nice one for someone patient and skilled enough to use it properly.
