    This is a rare gold plated ancient counterfeit coin (this was counterfeited at the time of issue around 500 or 600 BC, this is not a modern forgery) from the first ever coin series, the Lydian Lion! This is an Ancient counterfeit of Alyattes or Croesus (610-546 BC). EL plated 1/12 stater or hemihecte (0.96 grams). NGC Choice Very Fine 5/5 - 3/5. Copying Sardes mint. Head of roaring lion right. Greek ancient coin.
